Image Segmentation
Today’s topic will be image segmentation. With ongoing improvements in AI, being about to identify objects in an image (such as specimens vs. labels) has become quite good. We’ll talk a little about the underlying problems of image processing and the solutions that current AI provides. We’ll also talk about how to automate image processing and uploading. Finally, I will provide a demonstration of a currently-working system for segmenting herbarium images.
